20th Century Furniture, Arts & Design

Lambert Werner. (Swedish, 1900–1983) Composition, mixed media, signed. 1958
Lambert Werner was inspired by Gösta Adrian Nilsson’s colourful and dynamic art. In the year of 1925, he moved to Berlin and studied to become a medical doctor for three years while at the same time continuing his piano studies. He gradually began to study art and came into contact with Kandinsky and Klee. He experimented also from time to time with sculpture, much influenced by Archipenko and Zadkin. He then moved to Paris, where in 1928 had his debut at Galerie Mots et Image. After that, he continued his studies travelling in Europe, North Africa, and the Near East.
