Kristian Vedel "Modus" Danish Oak Lounge Chairs, circa 1960, Pair

A pair of Modus easy chairs designed by Kristian Solmer Vedel and produced by Søren Willadsen Møbelfabrik in Denmark during the 1960s. Part of Vedel’s celebrated Modus series, introduced in 1963, these chairs exemplify the refined simplicity and structural clarity characteristic of Scandinavian modern design.

Each chair is constructed from a solid oak frame, defined by clean architectural lines and an open, box-like form composed of cylindrical uprights and horizontal stretchers. This precise framework supports loose upholstered cushions in rich brown leather, including a tufted seat and back, offering both comfort and visual depth.
